I want to remove the Read-Only privileges of my Windows
temp folder. However, when I uncheck Read-Only, the next
time I go in to see if the changes worked, the Read-Only
box is checked again. I am listed under Control
Panel/Accounts as the Computer Administrator.

Any Thoughts

Don't worry about the bogus 'read only' attribute of the folder itself. The
NTFS permissions are what count.

The reason why I am asking this is that I have been
unable to install Real Player from Real Networks and they
said that my Temp folder must have Read-Only unchecked.
How do I know what my NTFS Privileges are?

Thanks

I am skeptical of any RealNetworks advice. You should be able to uninstall
the software if you are logged in with admin rights.

You can see what NTFS permissions are set by right-clicking on the folder,
properties, security tab.
