Corrupt XP Registry: http://support.microsoft.com?kbid=307545

I can't find any references to error code 16 with respect to
ntkrnlmp.exe. The most common error code associated with
ntknrlmp.exe is 7, and that often indicates a hardware problem such as
defective RAM.

As registry corruption can also be the result of defective RAM I
suggest that you download one of the following free RAM test utilities
and run it for an extended period (e.g. overnight) to check out the
RAM in your computer.

DocMemory http://www.simmtester.com
Windows Memory Diagnostic http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp
Memtest86: http://www.memtest.org

Good luck
