Please help. Manufacturer told me to download a start up
disc from Microsoft. My computer is only 2 1/2 months old
and will not start due to this missing or corupted file. I
can't find an appropriate download and a start up disc did
not come with my computer--only restore and of course I
have no back up of my Word files, some which are very
important to me.

What can I do?

Whats the file name after config? That would be the registry hive that is
corrupt.

You can rename that hive in windows\system32\config in recovery console
Then copy the same hive from windows\repair and boot the machine.
