windows starts unsucessfull

My screen is black stating windows was unable to start
sucessfully. I need help. It gives 5 options to start up
(safe mode, last good configuration .....) None work. What
can I do from home? Its a Gateway with XP home edition. I
have never had this problem. Please email me with useful
help only, NO SPAM
