In windows XP, I belive there are two different editions.
With other operating systems, the start menu looks
slightly different. Which version (professional or home)
has the green start menu with blue taskbar?

They both do , but you can choose Classic View if that's what you like.

These are three different Color Schemes for the XP 'Theme' or 'Style'
which you can have in either Home or Pro. Choose at Display -
Appearance
