Windows SP SP2..Unable to logon.

I have a dell optiplex gx110.I have a 2 partition hard disk, drive c will be
2gb fat16 dos partition the rest of the disk will be windows xp sp2.This
machine will be stand alone, just with a dsl connection and network
connection.I use the dos version of ghost with network boot disks to take an
image of this workstation and blast the image to another dell optiplex gx110.

The problem is windows xp is just hanging just before the logon screen
appears, i have manged to get the logon screen to appear by going into
control panel and into users accounts. Then changing from the windows xp
logon screen ( the one with the square icons and name) to a nornal logon
screen. Doing this will enable the pc to boot to the logon screen. You can
then login, but the pc will log you back out again to the logon screen.I did
once get an error with lsass.exe saying that the password is incorrect, just
before the xp logon screen is ment to appear.
This happens when you change the logon screen to the network logon and had
password set for local admin. So I tried with no password on any accounts and
now i'm getting the looping logon and logoff when i try to login.

If i use sysyprep, i have made sure that i'm using the correct version for
windows xp sp2. The pc's will always hang on the Windows Setup XP screen.

Please assist.

Thank You.

Best Regards,
Ranga.

Have you recently removed spyware? If so see this link:

If that doesn’t help see this:
