windows slow to open

Hi,
when I click on any of the 'action buttons' maximise, minimise etc etc the
action freezes for about 5-10 seconds before the actual button appears to
depress and the action is carried out. This is really frustrating because I
have to keep clicking my mouse until the action is performed. Any Ideas?
 
i've found its best to wait untill you see the word then
click. pc do many things well, but hurry up is't one.
