Windows Sidebar NOT WORKING!

So ever since I got my computer I can't get the sidebar to work. I can bring
it up and add gadgets but they don't function properly and they only have an
X on the right hand side (no magnifying glass to edit options). So basically,
the sidebar works but the gadgets don't?? Some of the graphics will show up
but they don't function...this is very frustrating and I've spent lots of
time trouble shooting and trying to figure out possibilities...any ideas??

it seems you used a registry cleaner that destroyed some important registry
keys. DON'T USER THE REGISTRY CLEANERS!!!

You probably have something loading at Boot that interferes with
the SideBar/Gadgets. Bootup and close all the programs you can
(with SIDEBAR OFF) and then START the SideBar. You might
have to reinstall a gadget,,, pick a simple one. In fact I would uninstall
all gadgets and turn Sidebar off prior to this reboot.

Use Task Manager and MSCONFIG to see what is loading at
startup.

Another tip is to be sure your drivers, especially Video, are uptodate.
