if i restart or shut down the computer it takes around 5 minutes to complete
the task
i reinstalled windows from scratch on a 74 gig SATA hard drive and as it is
installing it requires restarts and at that ime it goes quickly but once
everything is in it becomes turtle tower, it boots quickly, all programs run
flawless, all drivers are updated and i tried shutting down all of the
programs in the task manager and still very slow to the point i want to say
hell with it and hit power button.
hibernate goes very fast as i suspected it would

if anyone can help it will be greatly appreciated

Click Start -> Run, type msconfig and press Enter. Select selective
startup option and uncheck all other options. Then click OK to restart
the computer. Do you still encounter this slow shutdown problem?
