General information regarding the Bug Check Code (BCC) 0x50:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/ms793437.aspx

This is a very common BCC, and a search for resolutions i various Newsgroups
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/...n-us&mid=d17b371e-1c9e-4ced-9089-ae10485f0dd1

In the first reference you`ll read: "Bug check 0x50 usually occurs after the
installation of faulty hardware or in the event of failure of installed
hardware (usually related to defective RAM, be it main memory, L2 RAM cache,
or video RAM)." With the background information you have given, I suspect the
RAM installation is a first priority of troubleshooting. In case you:

- Did not have this problem before the upgrade of the PC
- Had the upgrade done by an OEM

you might consider this being a warranty case.

This is likely caused by hardware malfunctioning or bad driver.
Try to look in the Device Manager for the CD/DVD-ROM and see if it
malfunctioning or a Bad RAM, also USB storage.
You may have a bad RAM try to test your RAM by running Memtest by
downloading this tool and unzip it and make a floppy or CD/DVD and run it on
Reboot.

You may need to reposition/reset the RAM sticks in their slots.
Scan your computer fro malware and Viruses by whatever software you have.
