Windows Security Essentials for WinXP

It appears that Security Essentials for WinXP will be supported until
July 2015.

However, as of this morning, the taskbar icon for Security Essentials is
red, with a big "X" in it, and when I open it it says:

"Support for this operating system has ended, which means Security
Essentials is no longer supported and your system is at risk."

If Security Essentials support is extended for another year and a half,
it is not real comforting nor helpful to have a red icon with an "X" in
it and a notice like that.

Is anybody else who is running Security Essentials also getting this
flag and notice?

Yes, I expect that MS will correct the error but who knows.

A lot of people are switching over to Avast free version

Had Avast (free) for years then dropped it when the nag screens started
poping up! I want it "free" of nags!

I have been running Avast free since around 2007 and I don't get nag
screens. What do they like like? I run v7, 8, and 9. This one has Avast
7 free on it.
