Windows Security Center

Hello...

When I turn my windows firewall off Windows Security Center states that it
it detects more than one firewall installed on this computer...

I can't for the life me find this other firewall that is supposed to be
installed on my computer...

I have no other firewall software installed on my computer...

Why is it telling me I have more than one???...

Is there a way to find out what firewall it is detecting???...

The only firewall I use is Windows...

I use AVG AntiVirus and SpySweeper but this software doesn't have
firewalls...

i use to get double firewall msg's too. i think it was due to either windows
defender or that one care by microsoft. have you checked your system
processes and services? in services, you may find an entry for a firewall
that is in addition to the "windows firewall" service. I think that "one
care" was a service installed. but i uninstalled the one care. with system
processes, you can download "ProcessLibrary.com QuickAccess" (or something
similar) which will give you detailed data about each process in your task
manager (ctrl+alt+del). also, i think that some routers, mainly the
expensive ones, also have a firewall.

Hi Ben...

Thanx for responding...

I checked local services and didn't find anything that could be another
firewall...

I also downloaded the quick access tool to see what was running and what
they were...

Nothing there either...

When windows tells me that it detects more than 1 firewall installed it is
also telling me no firewalls are turned on after I turn off windows
firewall...

So I think checking the processes and services wouldn't help if the other
firewall is not running...

You mentioned router firewall...

I have a linksys broadband wireless router and the firewall is disabled...

Besides I was under the impression that windows security center only detects
(software firewalls) not {hardware firewalls)...

How and where is windows detecting this other firewall thats installed if
that other firewall is turned off???...
