Windows Search Indexing Options

M

Michael Q

I am using XP SP3.
I want to Index all documents and images on my hard drive but they are
greyed out and only Outlook Express and a few other folders are available.
Can you please help get those options back?
BTW It is not Indexing all of my OE in fact it is only about a third.

You can try using the Administrator user account in case some rights may not
be applied on a normal user account. You can check the group policy settings
on your machine and see whether you need to turn on any of those switches
also.

You can check the group policy of Windows Desktop Search by steps on the
following page and also the links on the bottom of that page.

WDS Group Policy

Basically, administrative templates can be downloaded from Microsoft
download site.

You can try the administrative template available from the following page.

For more reference of local group policy, you can have a look at the
document on the following page.

Using Administrative Template Files with Registry-Based Group Policy

Hope it helps.
