windows restore wont work "cannot open r:/220.GHo"

i tried to restore windows xp and received the following
msg cannot open R:/220.GHO followed by output
A:\GHOSTERR.txt

GHOSTERR.TXT is part of Norton's Ghost software. Check at
www.symantec.com for help with this application.
 
Hi,
Restore or Ghost?
If it's Ghost that you are driving and it fails, try running it with
the -fni switch.
