emachines restore cd windows xp

I am having trouble using the windows xp cd, it will not allow me it will not
open an r:// file symantec dump file .gho file any help apprciateed

because i have restora cd for my emachines computer is better to have a copy
of windows.the only think that you can do is return the cd back so the
company can send you another copy.
