Windows Restarts Continually

I have two machines that restart on it's own. One restarts continually
sometimes before it hits the sign on screen and sometimes it restarts after
opening up an office application after receiving a win32 error. The other
machine restarts on it's own after I select to view the calendar in Outlook.
It works fine in all other applications. Would these two machines both have
memory issues?

Thanks.

Jessica,

Under the System Properties, goto Advanced, and Startup & Recovery.
Uncheck the box that says "Automatically Restart".

If the machine is crashing, then rebooting, hopefully the above will show a
blue screen with a possible error.

Alternatively, check the System and Application logs in Event Viewer.

Doesn't always work. I had a loose mouse and unchecking "do not reboot"
had no effect. Nothing was in the event viewer. I finally, through the
process of elimination, figured out that it was the mouse not connected
properly.

Start with checking the memory and hard drives. For memory use both
these programs. Let them run for multiple passes each, not just the
quick test - one pass method. Once downloaded these will create a
bootable CD from which the diagnostics are run

Memtest86+

Windows Memory Diagnostic

For the drives download a drive diagnostic utility from the drive
manufacturer's web site. This will create either a bootable floppy or
CD from which the diagnostics are run.

Ooops forgot to add this. Is the system clean of malware? Have you run
a combination of anti malware programs and a current AV program with the
most recent definitions in safe mode?
