Windows restarts by itself

Hi there
I've been having this problem recently and I hope someone can help. Windows
restarts by itself everytime I'm watching a dvd and downloading stuff from
the internet in the background at the same time. I mean, I can watch the dvd
for some time and then all of a sudden windows restars by itself, and when I
try to play the dvd again it'll just reboot again. Another thing is that
usually when I leave the computer on all night downloading a big file, it
reboots in the middle of the night interrupting the download and staying on
til next morning. I have P-IV 2.4GHZ with 512 MB of memory so I don't think
it is memory related.

It can be may things. The 1st things that I would look at is you Power supply and the Electrical circuit in your house . Power surges cam also create havoc and similar issues. Check these out 1st and then post back and we can then look further

By default when WinXP encounters a system failure and restarts without
showing any error.

Control Panel>System>Advanced>Settings (Startup & Recovery)>System
Failure>Uncheck-Automatically Restart. Now rebbot and pay attention to
view the error.

Also look at the Event Viewer:-
