Windows restarting by itself

Sorry, this question is about a machine running ms windows 2000 but i didn´t
find the corresponding group.

My problem is that everytime i try to run the cmd.exe the system restarts by
itself, this happened after i used a usb memory (i think it was a U3 usb
memory).

Does anyone knows how to solve this issue??
