I'm using Ubuntu Live CD to mount my windows install to get access to my
files so that I can save them before a repair install. I have XP Home edition
OEM (Dell), SP2, installed on C:\ HDD.

I need to know what the drive name is when doing a recovery mount on a
embedded Dell computer, the same as any other windows install?

In Linux, your C: drive would be hda0 or hda1.....
