Is There a way to get back windows registry permissions to default.
I hav changed the registry permissions for the hive of Hkey_Classes_Root.
And Given full permissions to accounts of System & Administrators Group. I
hav changed the permissions of both hives of classes i.e Hkey_Classes_Root &
HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Classes, Bcoz the Hkey_Classes_Root doesn't has
auditing permissions. The problem is that whenever i restart the computer
after doing this, everthing boots correctly but the screen gets locked at
the welcome screen and programs give install or uninstall errors i.e if the
welcome screen is enabled using the Fast User
Switching. I wanted to know if there is a way to revert the Permissions to
default levels.

Thanx

Boot the system, start tapping F8, when the menu appears, select "Last Known
Good Configuration," and press enter. If that fails to resolve it, again,
boot the system, start tapping F8, when the menu appears, select Safe Mode
and press enter. Once in Safe Mode you should be presented with an option
to use System Restore, do so and use it to take your system back to a time
prior to when this began. Both methods restore the registry. If for some
reason you are not presented with the System Restore option at Safe Mode, go
to Start\All Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Restore. A third
method of restoring the registry is explained in the following Knowledge
