Running windows xp pro. Have not added any new hardware or software.
Problem just started. When trying to start to PC boot up begins and right
after seeing the windows screen, the PC restarts itself. This ahppens when
trying safe mode or anyother startup option. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hardware problem?

If no error message is displayed (no matter how briefly), then the Windows
load process has been aborted unexpectedly.
Loading Windows uses many parts of a system that are not used during the
boot up from the BIOS before Windows begins loading. The additional stress
may cause a problem to show up then. If possible try to check the
temperatures and voltages of the system from the BIOS (usually by pressing
the 'Delete' key just after starting the system (sometimes repeatedly; for
some manufacturers a key other than the 'Delete' key must be pressed.)

You could use the 'F8' key as windows just BEGINS to load and choose the
'Enable Boot Logging' option. This will at least show what parts of Windows
were loaded successfully loaded and which were not up until the time the
system rebooted.

Also, in 'Start Up Options' reached by the 'F8' key:
Have you tried 'Safe Mode'?
Have you tried 'Last Known Good Configuration?

Try the manual.
Try manufacturer customer technical support.

Additional information would help diagnose your problem.

Thanks for the response. I have actually identified the problem as bad
sectors on the hard drive.
