Windows Programs Not Responding After Installing SP2

I have a client who just recently (within the last 2 weeks) installed XP
Service Pack 2 on one of their desktops and when you open Word or just about
any other program, it becomes non responsive; especially if you try and print
or do some other Windows related function. Is Service Pack 2 the culprit
here? Should I uninstall the SP and try re-installing it or leave it off the
desktop altogether?

Did your client install it on a clean computer? Did your client check to see if he
was ready for SP2?

Unfortunately SP2 was added to a "dirty" machine. Can't say that anything
special was done prior to the installation. I've had mixed reviews myself on
the installation of SP2. Sometimes SP2 works wonderfully and you don't even
really know that it was ever installed and other times I have had to
un-install it as it mucked the computer up so badly it would hardly run.
This seems to be one of those times that an un-install is in order.
