Windows Picture and Fax Viewer

Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, as well as Thumbnails in Windows Explorer, have stopped working (won't display a picture when double clicking or right clicking a file and selecting WP&FV).

Would appreciate advice on how to get them working again.

First simply thing to try.

Click START|RUN and type this...
regsvr32 shimgvw.dll <enter>

After "running" your suggestion the message comes up
LoadLibrary ("shimgvw.dii") failed. Invalid access to memory location.

did you ever solve the problem with picture and fax viewer? I had exactly the same problem and that shimgvw.dll suggestion gave me the smae error message
