I have a problem with the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer in my XP Pro
machine.

It stopped working! Now all my images open in Microsoft Photo Editor when I
double-click them.

I know a lot of people hate the Picture and Fax Viewer, but I really like
it.

How can I get it working again to handle all my images?

I trued unregistering and re-registering shimgvw.dll but that hasn't made a
difference.

I have installed SP2 a couple of weeks ago and Media Player 10 last week,
but I didn't notice if they were what cause the problem or not.

Keith,

See if the attached REG fix helps. Applies to .JPG files.

You screwed the pooch this time, Ramesh. Not only should
you not be posting attachments, there's no need for
registry hacks, at least until the OP has tried to change
file associations the easy way--right-click on an image
file, choose "Open With", select the WP&FV, then click
"Always Use This..."

.

I did a little pooch-screwing myself, I'm afraid. I should
have said, "Select 'Choose Program'" after choosing "Open
With." Mea Culpa.
