Windows Picture and Fax Viewer Editor

How do I change the image editing program linked to Picture and Fax Viewer?
When I click on the button to edit the image, the program opens Paint.

I like using this viewer to browse images because it loads so quickly to
memory. When I want to edit an image I would like to click the button and
load the image directly into PhotoShop. Presently, I have to r/Click on the
image to open a menu and then select Photoshop from the menu. I would
prefer to just click on the editor button on the bottom of the window.

Wilfred,

There are two or more ways to change the default image editor application
(invoked from WPFV). Simplest way is to add an "edit" action in the Folder
Options - File Types tab, for that particular file type. For other
approaches, see the guide here:

Thanks!!!

It took a little intuition to figure out why initially I couldn't add the
"edit" action in Folder Options. I had previously customized .jpg file
types to open with WPFV. After you change the "Open with" setting for a
file type, when you view that type in Folder Options there is no "Advanced"
button to let you add an "edit" action. You have to restore the file type
back to its default setting to see the Advanced button.

It works like a charm!!!

BTW, I tried to figure out what the executable file is for WPFV and I
couldn't locate it. Is it a .exe file or is it a process that runs off a
..dll file buried somewhere in the bowels of Windows?

Thanks again.

You're welcome Wilfred.

It comes from a DLL (shimgvw.dll)
