Windows PE booting from RIS

B

Ben Woskje

Hi,
If anyone here has had any success getting windows PE booting via RIS on
IBM X345 (or any other model with intel pro 1000MT's) and ServeRaid 5i, you
can have my kindgom (its a small one, but its still a kingdom) for any
assistance.

I currently have it working on every other make/model required, but i am
alas reduced to booting to PE off CD for this build currently and i would
like to get this finished off.

Any replies to (e-mail address removed) - removing the obvious

Thanks in advance

I know of a Windows PE issue is with the Intel(R) PRO/1000 Gigabit
Adapter driver on the Intel 875PBZ motherboard.

You will need to modify the e1000325.inf by doing the following steps.

1. In either e100b325.inf (10/100) or e1000325.inf (PRO/1000),
find the section "[Intel]"

2. Immediately below [Intel}, locate the section "[Intel.NTx86]".

3. Highlight everything in the [Intel.NTx86] section (goes down
to the double dashed border of the centered header words "Windows XP"
and copy it.

4. Place the copied lines into the empty [Intel] section.

5. Save the file in the i386 directory.

6. Stop and Restart the services associated with RIS
