Windows Password

How should a password be saved in Windows so that I don't have to retype it
every time I want to publish using FP 2002?

There should be a 'save password' or 'remember password' check-box on the log-on
dialogue when you've clicked File > Publish Web.

Check the box labelled "Save this Password in your password list" on the logon
dialogue box when you click
File > Publish web.

There is a "Remember my password" checkbox there but FP doesn't save it.

Are you open the web via File Menu | Open Web and then double-clicking to open the web, then you
would just have to click OK. IE needs to configure to store passwords, etc.

When publishing, you need to open the destination site first using the method above be for
attempting to publish, if you want to avoid have to type in the login info.

I thought there was a way to save the password in Windows somewhere in
Network Places and then have it migrate to FP. Not true? (I may not be
saying that right).

I found that my computer would not save the password I use with FP to open
my remote site. Could not get it to work any which way!

Then I listed my remote site as a Trusted Site in IE Internet Options |
Security. Now I can open my remote site without any user name password
dialog appearing at all: it just opens as though there were no security.
That's great so long as you are not worried about anyone else using your
machine...
