Windows.old

Hi, after installing windows vista onto my laptop, it works fine and all, but
I want to increase my harddrive memory. My "windows.old" folder takes up
about 10 gigs of space. I've already transfered all my wanted files onto the
new Vista windows folder.

Can I delete windows.old folder without anything going haywire one me? Or
should I delete individual folders? Thanks

Hello,

The easiest way to get rid of Windows.old is to use the disk cleanup
utility.

- Click start
- Type: Disk Cleanup
- Press enter
- Select From files on the entire computer
- Select Windows.old from the list

Thanks for the info. I guess that WOULD'VE been the safest way, but I've
deleted it instead already. Thanks again though.

Use the Disk Cleanup wizard to delete that file. It's located in Start/All
Programs/Accessories/System Tools.

Depending on what is in this folder, you can end up getting some nasty
permission issues and access denied errors that the disk cleanup
wizard solves for you.
