I have a few problems. 1) I cannot get sound when I capture video from a
device,2) I have another program that captures analog video, and when I add
it to Movie maker, the sounds plays in preview box but when I add it to the
storyboard, I have video but no audio. Please help!
Thanks!

Hi Ace

1) How are you capturing? Is it through a digital camera into Movie Maker?
How is the camera connected?

2) The reason you get video and no audio is that analog capture programs
generally always save the video as MPEG videos and they are not compatible
with Movie Maker. You need to convert them to WMV or AVI.
Personally I use VirtualDub to do this:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=65889

But for other programs and more information see this site:

Thank you for your time. I did download both programs from the websites you
gave me. The virtual dub was not it and thwe Xilisoft did convert from MPEG
to avi, but Movie Maker still didn't recognize the codec. Movie Maker does
sayin help:

-- Supported file types
You can add content to your Windows Movie Maker project either by capturing
content directly in Windows Movie Maker or by importing existing digital
media files. The content you capture in Windows Movie Maker is saved in
Windows Media Format. However, you can also import existing Windows
Media-based content as well as other common file formats.

You can import files with the following file name extensions into Windows
Movie Maker to use in your project:

Audio files: .aif, .aifc, .aiff .asf, .au, .mp2, .mp3, .mpa, .snd, .wav, and
..wma
Picture files: .bmp, .dib, .emf, .gif, .jfif, .jpe, .jpeg, .jpg, .png, .tif,
..tiff, and .wmf
Video files: .asf, .avi, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wm,
and .wmv
My video file are supported, what else can I do?
Thank you,
Ace
