Is Windows Movie Maker a proffesional movie authoring tool for experts or can dummies such as my self with basic knowledge in computers use it to create family movies?

MM is good at what it does but it has limitations.
It doesn't handle MPEG's and you still need 3rd party software to burn
DVD's.

I use WinDVD Creator 2, because there is more possibilities.

i tried Pinnacle Studio 8, but its too unstable.

I tried Pinnacle Studio 9.43 and could never get it to work at all!
Now I use Movie Factory for basic stuff and am trying to learn Premiere
Elements which is more sophisticated.

It is very limmited, it’s about as basic as you can get. If you want
a more proffesional video editor, I surgest you look at Adboe Premier,
or at least Adobe Premier Elements. Although I prefer opensource
softwre, the ranger of software avalable for video editing is rather
limited.
