Hopefully, you have a firewire/ilink port on your desktop/laptop. If you do,
then it is much better to import video (at high speeds), using an ilink
cable. All the latest Sony DV cameras provide iLink output.
To get this working, you will have to purchase an iLink cable, which
shouldn't cost you much (especially, when purchased online). Depending on
your camera and computer, you'll have to choose from either 4-6 pin or 4-4

i just bought a sony handcam camcorder and i was transferring some footage
onto windows movie maker with a usb cable, but when it recorded it just
looked horrible, everything was blotchy and pixilated, i turned up the
frames/sec, but it really didnt help, any suggestions or help i would
appreciate
