Everytime I start Windows Movie Maker I see this error message:

"Windows Movie Maker has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are
sorry for the inconvenience."

Why is it doing it, and how can I fix this problem?

Thanks to who can help.

Are you using MM2? MM2.1?

MM2.1

What are the system specs of the pc?

HP Pavilion, Pentium 4

Have you tried turning off codecs which may interfere?

Yes

Has it ever worked?

Yes, it just stopped working yesterday

I installed "Adobe Premier Try Out" and when I went to use WMM it didn't
work, so I uninstalled Premier to see if WMM would work again, but it didn't
:(

My moviemaker also says the same.
"Encountered a problem." It does not seem as if anyone's suggestions helps the other person. I have read them all and nobody seems to get a solution. I do not want to system restore, because i do not want my previous work done to be altered in another programme. Please, something must be wrong. Why does everyone have the same problem that never existed since about 2 weeks ago? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!
