When I try to upgrade my WMM to WMM 2 I get a window
saying: Windows Movie Maker 2 can only be installed on
the Microsoft Windows XP operating system.
So I just have the old one now. Before I had second
edition - but then I got that crasch-problem - anytime I
tryed to ad videoeffects it shut down. Therefore I
succeded to uninstall most of the Movie Make 2 from my
disc. And now I´m completely stuck...
I can´t install the mm20swe.exe (neither the english
version).

Foun it myself on john´s page:

7/23/03 (Microsoft) - if anyone else is having trouble
installing it the official way, you can try the semi-
official way:

Copy the contents of
the "C:\WINDOWS\RegisteredPackages\{60BFF50D-FB2C-4498-
A577-C9548C390BB9}" folder into your "C:\Program
Files\MovieMaker" folder, overwriting the files when it
prompts you to. Right click on the mm20ex.inf file and
choose install. Doubleclick on the moviemk.exe file will
then launch Movie Maker 2.
