Windows Messenger

Windows Messenger has suddenly stopped loading in XP
Pro. Sure many would welcome this ... I however, use it
daily to talk to my wife and children across the
country. In looking at the Event Viewer, It shows an
Event ID (4). Have tried to uninstall/reinstall to no
avail. Was forced to install MSN Messenger, but, do not
like that it is not integrated into Outlook Express
Contacts and Internet Explorer.

Knowledgebase does not provide any help on Event ID (4),
and Microsoft paid $35.00 support is unable to determine
what's wrong. They said just use MSN Messenger ...

Jonathon ... your registry patches revived my Windows
Messenger. It however does not start when Windows starts
as it had prior. I have the check box enabled. I
unchecked MSN Messenger from automatically starting.
Could it be related to MSN Messenger still being loaded?
