In the Notification area of my task bar, I want to get rid of the windows
messenger icon (with an X) on it. When I go to my taskbar properties, and
customize, it is not on there. How can I remove it from the Notification
Area.
Thanks
Terry

To simply remove it from the taskbar, right click the icon and select exit.

To be sure it doesn't appear in the taskbar, open Windows Messenger except
when you open it, go to tools, select Options, go to Preferences, remove the
check from "Run Windows Messenger when Windows starts," click OK.
