Windows Messenger Button

Windows messenger icon (with an x) is in the Notification area of the Task
Bar. Can I remove it. I don't use messenger. And it is not on the properties
list when I hit customize on the task bar.

do mucho research on removing this messenger stuff...there are a few steps
involved...watch out for folks giving you a "one" step method...
