Do you log in with an Administrator's account ?

Do you use ICF, Zone Alarm, or any other firewall ?

Have you tried using Win Messenger without the Linksys router ?

I don't login,I use zonealarm, even disabling it does not help.
I have dsl and it works with it.
I got the wireless router so I could access the internet without running cable or telephone for my other computer.
I can use msn messenger and get audio and video but I like win messenger as you just click start camera and both audio and video start when the other party accepts.
msn you click I click everybody click click. It's a pain.
Thanks for trying to help JW.

There are several problems/solutions described in the following link:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=324214&product=WinMsgr
Of particular interest is the problem/solution involving Linksys, and
another problem/solution involving ZoneAlarm.

I've also heard the upcoming Service Pack 2 will solve many problems
involving Windows Messenger, including Windows built-in firewall. Please
let me know if any of this solves your problem or not. For my own
education/experience.

I have checked out your link I also configured the ports in the router but still same.
It is wierd that msn works and win does not.
I thank you again.

Windows Messenger and MSN Messenger, though they have similar appearance,
are not the same animal.. this would explain, maybe, why they have different
names?..

Sorry it did not work. The only other thing I can think of is to
temporarily remove your router, and try using Win Messenger without the
router. Then if Win Messenger works, then the problem must be the router is
not opening up specific ports Win Messenger needs (perhaps different than
those used by MSN Messenger). If Win Messenger still does not work, then
the router is not to blame. You did check ZoneAlarm is not blocking access
and server rights for Win Messenger, right ?
