Windows Messanger

A newer version is available - but I don't want it. I click the button next
to "No" and then "OK" and then Windows asks me to download it again a few
minutes later. How do you tell Windows Messanger that no means no?

Thanks for your help,

Jeff Fagan

It's a security update. Download it. I did and it didn't hurt at all or
affect Win Messenger's performance.

But many of us don't want Windows Messenger, so why would we want
to update it?

Well don't then, only morons have problems with this. You must be a moron. I use it and I don't get hassled.

I am not expert in Windows registy editing stuff nor in selective
updates. So ...

I guess there might be a registry entry that you can modify to make your
Windows OS ignore this specific update(?) Perhaps googling for "how to
disable selected updates Windows XP", or something similar, might help?
The best would be someone here, an MVP perhaps, gives detailed instructions.

I know I am not being much help here, just giving some ideas. Basis
being the user should be able to configure these things if s/he wants to.

Sam.

Ah, David, helpful and courteous as always.
