Windows Media V 10

Windows Media Player has frustrated me for a long time. I have received
various error message codes over time. The most recent error message code
is: 80040265. I downloaded the V 10 upgrade online recently. Can anybody
tell me how to resolve this current problem? Any help will be appreciated.
