As an example in Word when it is opened and "File" is
selected, at the bottom is a list of recently opened
files. In the "Tools" of Word there are options to not
show these "recently opened files". My problem is that
in Media Player there are "recently opened files" that I
cannot get rid of, is there a solution?

Have you tried posting to newsgroup: microsoft.public.windowsmedia.player?
