WIndows Media Player won't play video of AVI files

Johnny Boyeeeee!!!!

When I try to play downloaded .avi video files all I get
is the audio and not the video or the video shows for a
second or two but then it becomes just lines. What can I
do to fix it?

Try installing Divx5.0. Once installed the proper codex

will be installed to play avi files in media player.
