Windows Media Player Won't Fast Forward?

I know some files won't allow you to fast forward but now for some
reason anything I play I can't fast forward and end up using another
player to watch some files in but not all of them play on the other
player. How can I get FF to work again?

You might want to post to the windows medial player newsgroup and provide a
bit more info such as which version, did it ever work, what happened between
the time it did and now, what types of files, does it happen with all file
