Windows Media Player will not stream for _one_ user

I

Icebiker

Hi,

I recently upgraded to Windows Media Player 10.

Now, it won't stream for one user, but will stream just fine for other
users. For the user that it doesn't work for, it will look like it's
buffering for a minute and then it stops without any media output.

For what it's worth, after the upgrade, when I started WMP from the user in
question, the set up screen that allows me to select media types wouldn't
let me change anything.

I tried removing WMP, rebooting and reinstalling but with no effect. In
fact, removing didn't seem to work. Even though the icons had disappeared, I
could still launch WMP by clicking on an URL.

So how does one repair a Windows Media Player installation?

Thanks - icebiker
