When I play a video using WMP on Vista, the sound is suppressed, no depth.
Yet if I play it by the VLC player the sound is much better, is there a
reason, do I need some codec for WMP?

I've checked to see WMP equalizer or other effect are on and they are not.

Any idea?

How is it suppressed? Is there an Enhancement turned on on the sound card
settings... ?

I was having the same problems listening to my mp3s. Bought a new
Vista computer and put a new Creative X-FI Sound Card in. MP3s
sounded terrible!!! But after reading above, I went to the Creative
Audio Console and removed all the EAX effects and some other
effects.

Sounds great now.. Thanks..
