Windows Media player Shortcuts when minimised

Is it possible to continue to use the windows media player shortcuts
when it is minimised?
I am currently using the windows media 11 beta.

Examples:
Ctrl+P = Pause/Play
Ctrl+B = Previous

I am trying to write a macro to do this automatically for me so I can
remote control from a HID profile, but when Media player is minimised,
these commands do not work.

I have given up. Wanted to control the music without media player being
in focus

well, media keyboards can do it, so there must be a way to programatically
send it the proper events, but it escapes me at the moment.
cheapest/easiest might be to just get yourself a media keyboard, they're
only $25 typically.
