Error appears immediatly when trying to play mpeg files.
AppName: wmplayer.exe
AppVer: 11.0.5721.5145
ModName: unknown
ModVer: 0.0.0.0
Offset 00000000

Exception Info
Code: 0xc0000005 Flags: 00000000 Record and address 0x0000000000000000

No previous system restore points available. G-Spot says: Warning:
DirectShow crashed while attempting to render this file.

This is usually due to damaged, misconfigured, conflicting, or poorly
written codec drivers. It is possible, perhaps even likely, that other media
players will crash when they attempt to play this file as well, as most of
them will also use DirectShow. Although GSpot was able to intercept the
crash, attempts to identify the codec which caused it have failed.
Unfortunately, no additional information is available at this time.

Any help gratefully received. THANKS YOU

Go to Start/Run, and type DEVMGMT.MSC , highlight the Sounddevice, Action
menu, "Uninstall", then restart Windows, to find the device drivers again
automatically.

Hi Mark
Do you mean the C-Media AC 97 Audio Device and LegacyAudio Drivers? You know
this just happens when trying to view mpegs NOT Music files.
Thanks for helping though I'm a bit new to this

Uninstall the Windows media player 11 from the control panel >> Add/Remove
and then try to reinstall it again.
Be sure you select the right version for your system ( is it 32 bit or 64
bit) download from here
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/AllDownloads.aspx?displang=en&qstechnology=
Also be sure to clean the caches and scan for malwares on your system.
HTH.
Regards,
nass
