windows media player 9.0 series

I had my computer upgraded from windows me to windows xp
now when i put in a cd to play it gives me an error
message.
oxcood1197 cannot play the file.

have you tried to reinstall WMP 9 again?
what kind of CD are you trying to play? audio cd?
