Windows Media Player 10

I am trying to uninstall Windows Media Player 10 and reinstall windows Media
Player 9 but I can't uninstall player 10. It is not listed in the add or
remove program file. I have gone to the add/remove windows component area and
both checked and unchecked the media player box but that did not do any good,
I also went to the set program access and defaults area and checked and
unchecked the boxes but still doesn't show up in the programs so i can
uninstall.
What can I do?
Media Player want play some of the files I want to play but I understand
Media Player 9 has some codecs that 10 does not have.
