Windows Media Player 10

Recently, when I try to open WMP 10, it states that I need to reinstall the
program and directs me to the download site. However, when I download the
installer and it tries to run, it extracts all the files and then gives me
the message:

"This version of Windows Media Technologies is incompatible with this
version of Windows. For more information, view the information at the
Microsoft web site."

I run Windows XP Home with SP2 and have all the updates recommended.

I have tried to uninstall the update to wmp 10 (which was installed months
ago) from Add/Remove but the same message appears immediately.

Does anyone have an idea???

Thanks very much, but I can't see the attached script... :S

Sorry if I'm being unintelligent.

I have solve it - thanks for the suggestion that I search for the phrase.

I had to find wmploc.dll in servicepackfiles folder and paste it into
system32 - then the installer functioned.
