Windows Media not supported -- HELP

Recently my windows media was acting up so i uninstalled it and then tried
reinstalling it However when i tried to reinstall it it said that my windows
system did not support Windows Media 10. This does not make any sense because
i have XP Professional and i used to have windows media 10. does anyone know
how to fix this problem? PLease HElp.. please
